HTC Vive Europe appoints new general manager

HTC Vive Europe has appointed former Disney executive Paul Brown as its new general manager. Brown will be based in HTC’s European HQ near London, and will now oversee Vive’s growing European business across its VR content, software and hardware ecosystem.

Previously, Brown was general manager of Disney’s digital D2C and Disney Interactive for EMEA, where he oversaw the UK launch of Disney’s first major direct to consumer video and music subscription service, Disney Life. Before that he was Spotify’s UK managing director and was involved in its mobile launch in 2009 and 2010. He’s also held senior executive roles at Sony Music and US online radio station Pandora Media.

Brown commented: I am incredibly excited to join the Vive team. Virtual reality has the potential to change the world and to genuinely unleash our imagination. HTC Vive is leading the way in truly immersive VR technology and content and we are only at the beginning of the journey, much like we were with music streaming and video on demand a decade ago! I am looking forward to working closely with the global Vive team to ensure we maintain and build on our position as a leader and pioneer, with our partners, in the VR space.”
