I-play scoops 24 licence

Hit television series 24 will soon be hitting mobile phones in the form of a time-sensitive game from I-play.

The mobile firm is working with Twentieth Century Fox’s new Fox Mobile Entertainment Unit to capture the time-driven drama with a new type of portable game. Players will receive instructions, messages and investigative content direct to their phones, with the clock starting to race the moment gamers switch the game on.

“This is one of the most coveted and exciting licences in the industry,” enthused I-play CEO Brian Greasley. “You do not come across brands like 24 every day, which have such an enormous following across all age groups, but also have the potential to be converted into a thrilling mobile experience.”

The title is set for a global launch in early 2006, coinciding with the start of the series’ fifth season and will be supported with a huge marketing campaign.
