Ambitious mobile games company I-play has acquired UK porting and development specialists Ditto Studios as part of ongoing expansion plans.
The acquisition means that I-play will be using Ditto’s proprietary technology to accelerate the process of providing mobile games for the hundreds of different handsets available on the market.
The Ditto team will continue to be managed by MD Mark Bridgeman, with the board of Bob Wood, James Alcock and Ian Metcalfe remaining while the two companies are fully integrated.
The first of Ditto’s titles to be released through I-play’s distribution network is a futuristic 3D intergalactic shooter Major Carnage, which will be released in July in Europe and the US.
“Ditto’s vast experience in the mobile arena is a perfect compliment to I-play – there is a natural fit and clear role for us to play in porting and developing future I-play titles” said Ditto MD Mark Bridgeman.
