YouTube is to launch a new video games channel powered by the IGN Network.
Called START, the project is being run in conjunction with Shine Group. It will include both pre-recorded and live broadcasts as well as content not found on the IGN website.
The service is due to launch in January 2012.
“We're excited to have the opportunity to partner with YouTube on their new channel initiative," IGN's VP of video Bernard Ho stated. “We look forward to working with Shine to take gaming content to the next level.”
YouTube is also beefing up its offerings in the TV, film, music, news and sports sectors by partnering with a range of media companies.
