Japanese publisher Capcom has posted solid results for the quarter ending June 30th 2012.
It reported a 244.4 per cent year-on-year increase in operating income to ¥2,669m and a 55.8 per cent jump in net sales. Net income for the three months ending June 30th climbed 290.2 per cent to ¥1,320m.
A big player in this success was new RPG IP Dragon’s Dogma, which broke records in japan to become the most successful new IP launch of the current generation.
Also successful – despite some bad reviews on this side of the globe – has also delivered the goods, passing 2m registered members.
Capcom’s quiet success in social gaming show no signs of abating, either, with The Smurf’s Village and Snoopy’s Street Fair enjoying huge popularity.
So happy was Capcom that it even spoke of a “recovery trend” in the overall games market.
