Incomes surge at NCsoft

Korean MMO specialist NCsoft has reported an impressive set of Q1 2007 financials, with sales totalling $91.2 million, operating income reaching $18.4 million and net income hitting $15.2 million.

Operating income was up 96 per cent compared to the same period last year, whilst net income saw an impressive 107 per cent rise.

Europe was one of the strongest performing regions for NCsoft, with sales in the territory up by 102 per cent compared to the same period last year.

“Our first quarter sales and operating income rose nine per cent and 96 per cent respectively,” NCsoft CFO Lee Jae-ho stated. “Furthermore, we expect to attain sustainable growth in the second half after releasing a string of new game titles starting with the much anticipated closed beta testing of Tabula Rasa.”

Lineage and Lineage II continue to be the strongest performing titles for the company, accounting for 38 per cent and 41 per cent of NCsoft’s overall sales respectively.

Upcoming titles for the firm include MMORPGs Aion, Tabula Rasa and a new expansion pack for Guild Wars entitled Eye of the North.
