Epic Games’ iOS blockbuster Infinity Blade will launch in Japan as a free-to-play game, a leading Japanese games company has said.

Tokyo-based smartphone games giant Dena has won a contract to be the exclusive vendor of Infinity Blade in Japan, the company said.

It will launch ‘Infinity Blade X’ as a free-to-play game on its own social games platform, called Mobage.

The game, built by US studio Chair, was released to critical acclaim and quickly shot to the heights of the App Store charts.

Infinity Blade has already made $10 million in revenues, Chair Entertianment recently said.

Dena says it will relaunch the game in Japan this Fall as a ‘social game’. It will remain  exclusive to iOS devices, Dena said.
