Journey wins five awards at game BAFTAs

Thatgamecompany’s PSN release Journey was the big winner at the British Academy Games Awards last night, winning five of the eight awards it was nominated for.

The game collected gongs for Artistic Achievement, Audio Achievement, Game Design, Online Multiplayer and Original Music. Fellow PSN release The Unfinished Swan also collected two awards.

Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3 won the Action gong while Bethesda’s Dishonored was crowned Best Game. LEGO Batman 2 scooped the Family prize while The Walking Dead won both the Mobile Game award and the Story award.

New Star Soccer won best Sports game while XCom: Enemy Unknown won the Strategy award.

iOS outing The Room won the first ever British Game award.

In addition, Valve’s Gabe Newell was presented with the Academy Fellowship for his outstanding and exceptional creative contribution to the Games industry”.
