Koch celebrates five years of Nindie

Distributor Koch is kicking off the next five years of Nindie.com with ‘surprising’ deals on 3DS.

Nindie.com – a Nintendo-specific distribution portal for indie retailers – has been hugely popular since it launched in 2006. The firm won the MCV Award for best distributor off the back of it in 2007, and since its inception 1,882 new accounts have been opened.

It has really been a phenomenon,” said Koch UK MD Craig McNicol. Back in 2006, no-one really had such a web presence. When you look back, it is amazing what has been achieved with Nindie.”

McNicol added that helping indies compete with the big boys has become increasingly important to Koch Media. As a result, 3DS products can be ordered at simplified prices as of today (Friday, March 25th).

We want to keep indies in the mind’s eye of everyone, and we will continue to do that,” he said.

The market ahead is uncertain and we need to keep this
link with the independents, and hopefully we can give them the tools they need to develop their businesses with.

As a sort of nod to the headlines that are coming out at the moment regarding the pricing for 3DS, we have decided to simplify our pricing and we have added incentive schemes, so that the more you buy, the better your price becomes. If people speak to their account manager I think they’ll be pleasantly surprised about how far they are going to help.”
