Konami denies reports claiming triple-A games production stoppage

Konami has refuted recent reports that the company is largely moving on from developing console releases, claiming titles for franchises including Castlevania, Metal Gear and Silent Hill are very much in development.

In a statement toNintendo Life, a customer support representative explained thenotion that the company plans to move strictly to mobileis unfounded.

I can promise you that we’re definitely not leaving Metal Gear behind or anything like that. I know some blogs were claiming that online this morning, but I’m not really sure where they’d be getting that from,” the rep said.

We’re still definitely working on console games and franchises such as Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania, PES and all the rest.”

The statement reflects whatKonami president Hideki Hayakawa saidabout similar concerns from fans back in May.

Our aim is to continue to build up a comprehensive portfolio of console, arcade, and card game titles for each IP while also making the best possible use of the mobile devices that accompany our customers in their daily life, thus expanding the limits of entertainment and appealing to more and more customers.”
