reports.

Kutaragi will be only the third ever person to receive the accolade, following in the footsteps of Nintendo’s Howard Lincoln and Minoru Arakawa who were previously recognised for their success in revitalising the US games market in the 1980s.

Before stepping down from his place atop of SCE earlier in the year, Kutarai masterminded Sony’s rise to prominence by masterminding PlayStation’s explosive arrival in the games industry in the late ‘90s and cementing its market leading position with the world’s most successful ever console, the PS2.
