Codemasters’ Brian Lara International Cricket is the first cricket title to claim the top spot in the ChartTrack all formats top 40, leapfrogging Activision’s Madagascar.
Activision’s other big movie licence Fantastic 4 holds firm at number three, ahead of EA’s Medal of Honor: European Assault, which racks up its third week at number four.
Take 2’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory leaps 11 places thanks to the movie’s release last week, and completes a trio of film licences in the top five.
THQ’s Destroy All Humans maintains its top 10 position, six weeks after release, at number six, with the Ashes effect helping EA’s Cricket 2005 to number seven.
Meanwhile, THQ’s Juiced drops one place to number eight, and Rockstar’s omnipresent GTA: San Andreas drops a place to nine. Fellow chart veteran LEGO Star Wars (Eidos/Giant) completes the top 10, having secured its 15th week in the charts.
Codemasters’ Worms 4: Mayhem is the only significant new entry of the week, in at number 25.
