Microsoft previously stated that a high number of new Live subscribers over the Christmas break mean that many existing users had trouble accessing its network.
As a result, an American lawyer has decided to sue the firm for $5 million, claiming the outages constituted a breach of contract – so now online voice Major Nelson can no longer advise gamers of Microsoft’s efforts to address the issues.
In a webcast released on his blog, Major Nelson stated: “Unfortunately a lawyer has decided to sue us, there is litigation, and once that happens I can no longer make a comment. I can’t say anything so I apologise, but go talk to the lawyer. That’s all I can say about that.”
