Layoffs hit Marvel Heroes studio

Marvel Heroes 2015 developer Gazillion has suffered a round of layoffs, the studio has confirmed.

Following the re-launch of its licensed free-to-play MMO last summer, Gamasutra – citing Marvel Heroes QA director Michael Parks – reports Gazillion had been hit by a lot” of redundancies.

Gazillion responded by officially confirming the report, but didn’t specify the number of employees out of the job.

"We wish them well in their future endeavours, and would recommend them to other employers in a heartbeat," Gazillion PR head Chris Baker stated.

Marvel Heroes 2015 launched in June 2014, drawing far more acclaim from players and critics than its troubled original release in 2013.
