LBP 2 gets Final Fantasy VII content

It may be 14 years old but new content based on the much-loved Final Fantasy VII RPG is still being developed.

From July 13th owners of Sony’s PS3 platformer LittleBigPlanet 2 will be able to download costumes of popular Final Fantasy VII characters. These include Cloud, Tifa, Aeris and Sephiroth.

Each costume will cost 1.59 to download or alternatively players can purchase the Final Fantasy Costume Pack. This includes all four characters – plus an extra Vincent costume – for 4.79.

LittleBigPlanet 2 players can also download an Infamous 2 content pack which includes good and bad Cole McGrath costumes and a bunch of new stickers. On July 20th a Killzone 3 pack will go live which includes Rico and Hazmat Trooper outfits. Both of these packs will cost 2.39.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII was originally released in 1997 on PSone. The critically acclaimed RPG has sold around 10m copies worldwide and is today available to download on PSN.

An animated film based on the game was released in 2005, while a number of spin-off games have hit shelves over the years.
