Leipzig set for record 2007

This year’ Leipzig Games Convention, which is due to kick off on August 22nd, looks to be the largest ever gathering in the event’s history, with 390 exhibitors expected to attend the fair.

The number is up on the 368 exhibitors present last year. The floor space is set to grow, too, with the 115,000 square metres of exhibition space representing a 28 per cent leap on last year’s figure.

“The GC has grown steadily in recent years, both in its area and in exhibitor and visitor numbers,” event MD Josef Rahmen stated. “The current level of trade visitor and exhibitor registrations confirms our assumption that we will achieve considerable increases again at the next fair.”

New additions to GC 2007 include a computer games music concert, a multimedia education section and a new family entertainment area.

Running in conjunction with the event, the GC Developers Conference will begin slightly earlier on August 20th.
