LG ditches Windows Phone 7

Korean electronics giant LG has announced that it will not be making any further Windows Phone 7 handsets.

It came to the decision having claimed that the total unit of Windows Phone sold in the global market is not a meaningful figure”.

Instead the company will press ahead with its future plans for Android handsets, although WPCentral does add that LG intends to continue research and development efforts” on Microsoft’s format.

Samsung, HTC and key Microsoft partner Nokia remain as the main WP7 partners pushing forwards.
