Lords of Football gets digital update ahead of boxed release

Soccer life simulator Lords of Football will come to retail, says the game’s developer Geniaware.

The firm launched the game as a digital download back in April, and has already started releasing DLC to improve quality.

The simulator – which has been described as a cross between The Sims and Football Manager – has been created in collaboration with Italian and Chelsea football legend, Gianluca Vialli.

It has been an interesting start for us as we decided to go it alone,” says Geniaware boss Claudio Giacopazzi. Now we have released our first DLC and have other content being finalised. We are continuing to grow the game and the fun factor.

We decided to go it alone with a digital release but retail is not something we will forget. There will be a retail box.”

Vialli himself added: We decided to go solo for digital publishing, because we see this as the future. But we are speaking with publishers and getting close. I want to have a box, so that when you walk into a shop, you can see your game there. That’s a good feeling.”

Vialli wants the game to hit more platforms, too.

Lords of Football is perfect for PC, but I also think it will work well with the next-gen consoles.”
