Lulzsec returns with The Sun web hit

Just three weeks after its supposed withdrawal from the hacking scene, Lulzsec has returned to the world of online mischief with a high-profile hack of The Sun’s website last night.

Anyone trying to visit the tabloid’s web portal was redirected to a fake story somewhat distastefully claiming that News Corp owner Rupert Murdoch had been found dead.

The redirect was subsequently altered to the Lulzsec Twitter page. The Times’ website was also affected.

Hackers also claim to have obtained some email information for staff members, including the email address and log-in details of the now departed Rebekah Brooks.

As a precaution the News International website was temporarily taken offline.

“This is only the beginning. Fuck you Murdoch. You are next," Lulzsec’s Twitter account subsequently gloated.
