Man Utd signs social games deal with mobile publisher Gloops

Premier League football club Manchester United has struck a deal that will see official social games launch in Japan.

It has signed a new sponsorship agreement with Japan social gaming company Gloops.

The new two-year regional sponsorship will see Gloops become the club’s first Official Social Gaming Partner, giving it the rights to create and distribute a "statistical based battle card social game" in Japan.

Manchester United has almost four million followers in Japan.

Founded in 2005, Gloops was originally an advertising agency before diversifying into the online social gaming industry. It employs over 600 staff across offices in Japan, the US and Vietnam.
