Mass Effect 3 DLC details leak

A Reddit tipster has seemingly leaked the first details of Mass Effect 3’s ending-altering DLC.

User dertemp6698, who Kotaku credits as trustworthy owing to previous accurate leaks, published the following press blurb for the content:

An expanded ending for Mass Effect 3. Additional scenes and an extended epilogue reveal the impact of Shepard’s choices on the future of the galaxy.”

The user also details a second release that will include some multiplayer content, too, with these additional details also revealed:

The fighting is fiercest when it’s your home at stake! Mass Effect 3™: Earth adds mods, gear, and new maps for Rio, Vancouver, and London. It features 3 new weapons: Piranha assault shotgun, Acolyte pistol, and Typhoon light machine gun. Six new human N7 classes are also available: Destroyer, Paladin, Demolisher, Slayer, Shadow, and Fury!”

There’s no word yet on a price or release date.

BioWare confirmed in April that it would be revisiting the controversial ending to the game, which drew hefty criticism from some fans.

"We are all incredibly proud of Mass Effect 3 and the work done by Casey Hudson and team," BioWare co-founder Dr. Ray Muzyka said at the time. "Since launch, we have had time to listen to the feedback from our most passionate fans and we are responding.

With the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut we think we have struck a good balance in delivering the answers players are looking for while maintaining the team’s artistic vision for the end of this story arc in the Mass Effect universe."
