Massive publisher support for Gamescom

This year’s Gamescom is on course to be the biggest iteration yet as publishers and platform holders alike pledge their support for the show.

Event organisers Koelnmesse report that there are 20 per cent more exhibitors signed up for Gamescom than there were this time last year.

We are clearly on the road to success and are certain that Gamescom will greatly benefit all parties involved in 2011 too,” said Koelnmesse CEO Gerald Bse.

Key exhibitors include Nintendo, Ubisoft, EA, Warner Bros, Take-Two, Namco Bandai, Konami, Bethesda and more. Sega and Capcom have also signed up for this year’s show, marking their return to Cologne.

We are currently working at full steam on a trade fair exhibit that will excite all generations of gamers,” said Sega Germany’s head of marketing Henning Otto. We look forward to reuniting with our fans from all across Europe in Cologne.”

Capcom’s sales and marketing director for Central Europe Michael Auer added: We are looking forward to being a significant part of Gamescom in this important and exceptionally strong year for us. We are now using the coming months to present our titles in an impressive way to an international community of excited video game fans in Europe as well.”

Gamescom 2011 will be held at Koelnmesse, Cologne and will run from August 17th to August 21st.
