Several new bits of info has arrived for the PC version of Rockstar’s upcoming effort Max Payne 3.
The PC version will support DirectX11 ‘including tessellation, as well as a number of additional advanced graphics options. ‘ Players will have to wait until May 29th for their shot at it though, with the PS3/Xbox 360 launch taking place on May 15th.
There are also a myriad of distributors to pre-order from, each with its own version of bonuses offered up to those who want to pony up ahead of time through their store.
Digital retailers offering some form of pre-purchase incentives include Steam, GameStop/Impulse, Amazon Game Downloads (limited to U.S. only), Gamesplanet, Gamesload, and Gamersgate.
There's a good amount of cross-over content between the offers.
As Shacknews points, some of the aforementioned provide free copies of prior Max Payne games; however, some include just Max Payne 2, while others provide both parts one and two. Others require that you pre-order the game before the console launch date of May 15th in order to qualify.
Regardless of what bonus you go with, you'll want to make sure their rig can run the game. So here’s a look at the PC system requirements as detailed by Rockstar:
