As we countdown to the MCV Awards 2016, which takes place in London on March 3rd, we profile each of the finalists for the New Games Brand category

The latest addition to the WB Games LEGO offering, LEGO Dimensions enjoyed Week One UK sales of 37.7k starter packs and remained in the All Formats Top 10 for eight weeks.

Life Is Strange

Square Enix went for something different with Life Is Strange, a digital-first Dontnod-developed episodic adventure game that blended gameplay and social elements.

Project CARS

The Slightly Mad Studios racer, published by Bandai Namco, has sold 1.5 million units – impressive for a new IP and in a very competitive market where franchises such as Forza, DriveClub, Need for Speed and Gran Turismo dominate.

The Escapists

Team 17’s prison escape game, created by solo indie developer Chris Davis, sold more than 1.25 million copies on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Bloodborne

Developed by From Software, SCEE’s Bloodborne mined the rich vein of Dark Souls and RPG fandom to deliver a fresh slice of IP for the genre.

Splatoon

A shooter with a Nintendo twist, Splatoon reworked a genre traditionally reserved for core gamers, reminiscent of how Mario Kart made the racing genre more accessible all those years ago.
