Namco Bandai hires new PR boss
The publisher has hired Jonathon Lopera as UK PR manager. With previous experience in both marketing communication roles, Lopera joins Namco Bandai well equipped for his new position.

“Jonathan has a great deal of experience within the communication, PR and marketing sector and he is a great addition to the UK Namco Bandai PR and marketing team,” said PR and marketing director Lee Kirton.

“He joins newly-promoted PR executive JOE WALSH focusing on specialist media, consumer agency PR and Hollie Bennett, community PR executive focusing on our social network and community efforts.

“It’s a pleasure to have Jonathan join the UK team and it strengthens our position in the entertainment industry with our huge range of products moving into 2013. I look forward to working closely with Jonathan and working on building upon our awareness in the UK market.”

Lopera has previously worked in marketing at Bossa Studios, BBE Records and Eastside Music and in communication at ChangYou.com and The Active Channel.

Bruce is back, takes Playrise marketing role 
Popular PR Sam Brace has joined developer Playrise Digital as head of PR and marketing.

“I’m so excited to be a part of an independent studio and am looking forward to helping Playrise titles reach the widest possible audience” said Brace.

“I’ve worked on a number of mobile campaigns as a freelancer and am relishing the chance to take my career to the next level in the digital space, the fastest growing sector of the video games market.”

Brace has a wealth of experience in PR having previously directed campaigns for titles including Fallout 3, Resident Evil 4 and Dead Rising.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Sam Brace to the Playrise team and feel lucky to have such a well connected and respected member of the video games industry working with us,” said Nick Burcombe, CEO of Playrise Digital.

“This appointment will undoubtedly help bring our games to market in the strongest possible shape and we look forward to building our brands with Sam guiding the marketing ship“.

New head of consumer at CBS Interactive 
Steve Wing has been appointed head of consumer for CBS Interactive UK. Wing will be focusing on the task of growing the firm’s UK audience, as well as enhancing and maintaining the progression of the brand.

This will also include helping to grow the commercial performance of technology site CNET and video games news and reviews site GameSpot.

“We’re delighted to have Steve,” said CBS UK interactive managing director Geoff Inns. “He’s smart, focused and his energy will help us realise our UK ambitions for our global media brands.”

Wing joins from the role of business director, mobile, for the Guardian News and Media, where he was helped grow the company’s mobile, e-Reader and tablet business.
