As well as creating a strong partnership with the world’s number one games magazine specialist, the deal will give MCV access to Famitsu’s market data.
In return, Famitsu - and other publications and websites within parent company Enterbrain’s portfolio - will be provided with exclusive editorial content from MCV and from the magazine’s website.
Enterbrain boasts over two million readers across its games magazines, with the world’s only weekly consumer mag Famitsu claiming a circulation of some 800,000.
“We are delighted to have signed this deal with Famitsu,” said MCV’s managing editor Lisa Foster. “The magazine brand and its parent company are highly respected within the global interactive entertainment industry, as well as within the broader financial and media markets.”
“The continued growth of the European markets is of increasing importance to us here in Japan and as such we have very high hopes for the partnering of two market leaders,” added president of Enterbrain, Hirokazu Hamamura.
“The collaboration and exchange of market data that will come from this relationship should bring new vitality to both markets.”
