Mensa HQ heads to 3DS

The High IQ group Mensa will get its own 3DS game this year, courtesy of Barnstorm Games.

It will also arrive on a variety of other platforms including NGP, Wii, Xbox Live, PSN and PC, as well as Facebook, Android and iOS devices. Publisher Barnstorm is aiming for a pre-Christmas release.

The firm has seen success with its Mensa Brain Test app for iPhone and iPad, which became the No.1 entertainment app in 15 countries and reached No.2 in the App Chart.

The new game – Mensa HQ – promises to be more complex than the app and will cover the five Mensa disciplines, numeracy, visual/spatial, literacy, logic and memory.

There will also be a multiplayer mode.

The success of the Brain Test app helps demonstrate our thinking that the Mensa brand provides the ultimate credence for a Brain Training-style product,” Barnstorm Games’ James Spice told MCV.

We are talking to publishing partners about Mensa HQ and are excited by the response. Silverball Studios has done a fantastic job developing the SKUs.”
