Microsoft renews Cartoon Network deal

Xbox has signed a six-figure sponsorship deal with Cartoon Network.

Much like last year, the partnership will see Kinect for Xbox 360 featured across Cartoon Network’s platforms between now and April 2012, showcasing upcoming titles including Kinect Sports: Season Two, Kinect Disneyland Adventures and Kinect Star Wars.

As part of the sponsorship, Cartoon Network parent Turner Media has put together a series of TV spots, with competition ads airing between 8am and 10am on Saturday mornings. Consumers can enter the competition by visiting a bespoke microsite, with the winners announced on TV on the same day.

We’re thrilled to be renewing our Cartoon Network sponsorship,” said director of Xbox and Entertainment for Microsoft UK Stephen McGill.

We know from the success we achieved last year that Cartoon Network is a great fit with our family audience. This year’s campaign will extend our conversation with Cartoon Network viewers by bringing the Kinect for Xbox 360 story to life in a new and exciting way.”

Turner’s group account director Kevin Bennett added: Taking the creative further and building an interactive campaign for Xbox 360 has been tremendous fun.

We’re delighted to be working with Xbox again on a sponsorship that is a perfect fit for Cartoon Network and its audience”.
