Microsoft suffers market share dip

Microsoft has continued to see its market share in the software sector ebb away, according to the latest figures from Net Applications, with both Windows and Internet Explorer suffering.

Windows has seen its overall use on internet browsing devices drop below the 90 per cent mark for the firm time to 88.3 per cent, whilst just 67.6 per cent of people browsing the web now do so on IE.

Linux, Apple’s OSX and Firefox are said to be the main beneficiaries.
