Microsoft unveils Rare’s Viva Piñata

The game will be based on a television series of the same name made by 4Kids Entertainment, the team behind Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which is to be aired by Fox’s 4Kids TV this Autumn.

“With Viva Piñata we are introducing a revolutionary brand that will entertain, inspire and excite children, families and creative minds around the globe,” explained Microsoft’s Peter Moore.

The game is described as a customisable, social and spontaneous title that invites players of all ages and skills to explore an immersive world where they are challenged to create and maintain a living garden ecosystem that grows in real time.

Taking control of the environment, players can attract more than 60 species of wild Piñata to create their own, distinctive, thriving paradise. The game will evolve via new content, downloadable over Xbox Live. Interactivity and trading will also be possible over the network.
