Minecraft Realms launches in North America

Mojang’s private-server service Minecraft Realms is now available in North America, the studio announced earlier today.

The Minecraft service offers players the option to buy a premium subscription for Mojang to host a private server for friends, families, and other small groups.

Subscriptions cost $13 per month, and provide 24/7 access to a server as well as the ability to roll back to an earlier restore point should things go horribly awry.

Mojang originally launched Minecraft Realms in Sweden, and has since become available several countries. As Mojang’s announcement post notes, the service is out now in Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Great Britain, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, North America, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, The land Islands, The Cayman Islands, The Faroe Islands, The Isle of Man, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom, and The United Arab Emirates.
