MLG.tv network to broadcast major eSports events

Major League Gaming has announced MLG.tv, a new eSports internet-broadcast network that will showcase events around the world.

TechCrunch reports the network will stream broadcasts in HD (up to 1080p) as well as carry a studio show that features both news and highlights.

The weekly recap show, entitled eSports Report, will air each Thursday. The program looks to take after other sports news and highlight shows, such as SportsCenter.

The organization explained that it intends on having "a TV-like linear programming schedule," for the network. It kicks off this coming weekend with the broadcasting of the MLG Championships and an international Dota 2 tournament.
