Virgin’s competitive gaming venture is determined to expand its UK userbase.
The service, which allows consumers to play games online to win money, was launched in the US in 2010 and the UK on October 5th this year.
“We saw the demand for FIFA in North America, and obviously the UK is the biggest market for that series,” European boss Andrew Greaves told MCV. “We’ve already got quite a lot of European players through our US?site, so it made sense to bring it over here and make it more suitable to the UK audience.”
Virgin Gaming launched a heavyweight media campaign last month, using a mix of TV and online ads to promote the service.
“Virgin Gaming is as much about playing with friends as it is about the tournaments.”
