Moshi Monsters album aims for Top Five

Mind Candy wants to ‘make history’ with its Moshi Monsters album, Music Rox.

The developer says no album has made the Top Five without being played on the radio or TV. But the firm hopes it can do so via the power of gaming.

We’ve got high hopes,” head of music Jason Perry told MCV. If we manage to get into the Top Five, we’ll be making history.”

Regardless of its chart success, Perry hopes Music Rox will be another shot in the arm for the increasingly popular children’s game.

Nothing filters into your life like music,” he said. A good song will last forever, and that’s the key to this. We’ve tried to create a really credible album that kids and their families will love.”

Music Rox was released this Monday and has a mammoth campaign behind it, encompassing TV, print, radio, outdoor and online ads.

TV spots are expected to generate 34m impressions, while in-game messages will target Moshi Monsters’ 60m registered users.
