Speaking to Reuters about Rock Band, executive vice president of program enterprises at MTV Networks Music Group Jeff Yapp stated: "We're pretty optimistic about what Rock Band is going to do.
“But our next big announcement, which is coming up fairly quickly, is a move to a whole other realm."
MTV owner Viacom has previously vowed to invest $500 million in MTV’s video game efforts, and some predict that the recently purchased former Guitar Hero developer and Rock Band studio Harmonix may well work on a Hollywood franchise next time out.
