MW2 DLC dated on Xbox 360

Amidst the huge aura of uncertainty that currently surrounds the Modern Warfare arm of the Call of Duty franchise, Infinity Ward has nailed down a March 30th release date for the first paid DLC for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox 360.

The news comes from the cryptically titled Mapathy.com, which describes the term as follows:

A state of indifference to the same old maps one has been playing for the last several months. The Mapathetic individual no longer derives pleasure from blowing up people hiding in the cockpit or on top of the crane. More than 20 million people may be at risk for Mapathy.”

The confirmation eases growing fears that the DLC might slip in light of the looming legal tussle between Activision and former Infinity Ward bosses Jason West and Vince Zampella.

It has been confirmed that Infinity Ward is continuing to work on DLC for MW2, though West and Zampella are attempting to regain complete control of the Modern Warfare franchise through the courts.

So violent is the struggle that some lawyers have even speculated that the modern Warfare brand itself is under threat.

The PS3 and PSN versions of the DLC will likely arrive in April or May.
