Narayan Pattison leaves IGN

After four years at IGN and AskMen, Publishing Director Narayan Pattison is moving on, his last day being this Thursday.

Narayan has been a writer in the games industry for at least a decade, coming to IGN after a lengthy stint as the editor of Official Playstation Magazine at Derwent Howard.

He moved upwards at IGN from a senior role editing the local arm of the global videogame site, and told MCV that he misses the creative side of videogames journalism, and is looking to go back to a freelance role.

Pattison said: "I’ve decided to get back to more of a hands-on writing role. I’ve taken on a range of gaming and consumer tech writing across digital, TV and print. The only missing piece from my new career is for Apple to invent a waterproof iPad so I can do it all from the pool."

While IGN Entertainment are currently in the final stages of recruiting a new employee for the role of IGN Country Manager, John Allen, Sales Manager for the company, will be filling in as interim country manager.

Pattison added: "I’m absolutely thrilled with the team’s achievements. Over the last four years we’ve doubled the audience on both sites and cemented IGN and AskMen as #1 in their categories, both in Australia and globally."

"Even more importantly, I’m incredibly proud of the team we have. I couldn’t ask for a better group of guys to continue innovating across IGN and AskMen for years to come."
