Xbox 360 owners can download a new-look dashboard update next month adding cloud storage and voice and gesture controls.
The free download will go live on December 6th which will let users scroll through on-screen menus using the Kinect motion accessory. It will also include cloud storage for game saves and Xbox Live profiles, Facebook sharing and Beacons. The latter lets users schedule dates and times to play with friends online.
Microsoft also says new custom applications for TV, videos, films, sports and music will begin rolling out in 20 countries.
A statement read: “Console owners around the world will feel like they have a new Xbox. The new dashboard is built from the ground up to take full advantage of voice control.”

"The new dashboard is built from the ground up to take full advantage of voice control.” - Does that mean those people who don't have Kinect, and therefore no voice control, are actually being discriminated against and will have a dash less suited to them?

Chris, the new dash is suited to both, basically Kinect with the new dash is outstanding. Unlike the previous dashboard you can access the 90% of the dash with your voice. However even without Kinect the dash is much an improvement, a much better look, and a lot more user friendly.

Technically speaking the only way you could know that is if you are in the Public Preview...and the Ts&Cs normally specifically say not to publically talk about it!

Chris,
Technically I haven't said anything about a preview? So maybe I'm just guessing, also I'm just trying to ease your concerns.

Good way for MS to convince users to buy Kinect as i find the voice feature quite intriguing. Still waiting for a price-drop though
