Musical chairs at Activision today - after less than a year on the job former Guitar Hero CEO Dan Rosensweig has left to pursue new career oportunities.

He will be replaced by David Haddad, who becomes COO of Guitar Hero.

Haddad formerly served as COO of Vivendi Games' Sierra Online division, where he oversaw 'global product marketing, sales, live production, and business development initiatives for online games and console downloadable titles'.

He joins after a stint at Mattel and in 25 years in the business he has worked for the likes of Walt Disney and Liveplanet.

Haddad reports to Mike Griffith, president and CEO of Activision Publishing, and will be responsible for all the Hero music titles.

"We would like to thank Dan for his contributions to the Guitar Hero business," said Griffith.

"We widened our leadership in the music gaming genre in 2009. And now, as we enter 2010, David Haddad, with his broad consumer product and digital/online experience, is the right leader to drive our agenda to improve profitability."
