New CEO at last for Atari

Chairman and chief creative officer Bruno Bonnell has assumed CEO responsibilities since former chief executive Jim Caparro resigned over a year ago. Pierce now picks up the reins and will work alongside Bonnell “to achieve the strategic objectives of the company”.

Pierce has over 20 years of executive management experience with major entertainment companies such as Universal Pictures, MGM, Sony Pictures and Sony Music.

“With David as my senior partner, we will strengthen the capabilities of Atari,” said Bonnell. “His leadership skills, first-hand operational execution and keen focus on profitability and investment make him the ideal person to lead Atari.”

The news comes just a few days after the US publisher revealed that it has received a delisting notification from NASDAQ because it has failed to maintain the minimum $1 share bid price.
