It will retain its iconic, lakeside Chertsey office, but, according to sources close to the publisher, it plans to devote more space to developers as it expands its UK studio – possibly even moving the recently acquired Criterion team in as well, rather than leave it in a separate location not 20 miles up the road.
It isn’t clear how many jobs will be affected, but a major shift of power could be a blow to the UK’s status as the fulcrum of the European industry. The move is said to be scheduled for summer ‘06.
