New Xbox 360 confirmed?

A Microsoft XNA developer has added yet more fuel to the Xbox 360 redesign speculation following a discussion with designers on an internet forum.

CVG reports that when asked if the new HDMI-enabled console would require any code changes in the XNA development process, XNA Framework developer Shawn Hargreaves replied “no changes required”, at no point making any denial about the new hardware.

Several people have been keen to interpret this as an official confirmation, though Microsoft, as expected, continues to refuse to comment on the new machine.

Meanwhile, in The Mercury News Dean Takahashi yesterday reported that “it’s true that Microsoft is preparing to announce the Xbox 360 Elite, a version of the game console with black plastic and advanced features”.
