New Xbox Glasses patent discovered

Fresh evidence suggests that Microsoft is indeed planning to release some sort of head-mounted display for Xbox One.

A patent called ‘Multiplayer gaming with head-mounted display’ has been spotted by Engadget. The tech combines facial recognition, eye-tracking and depth analysis along with voice recognition and activation.

Much of the patent concentrates on simplifying the multiplayer invite system, primarily by using voice commands and doing away with menus. The glasses will also automatically identify other Xbox players and allow them to accept invites via voice.

Documents included with the patent depict users seeing friends augmented with their current in-game activities.

Much of which ties in with details of Microsoft’s ‘Fortaleza Glasses’ that were leaked in June last year.
