Not content with bossing the UK charts for most of 2006, EA gets off to a strong start in 2007 by capturing the top three positions in the Top 40. Christmas number one FIFA 07 retains first place ahead of racing title Need for Speed: Carbon whilst The Sims 2: Pets climbs one place to secure third position.
Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 6 slips two places to four whilst Rockstar’s Canis Canem Edit’s rise up the charts continues as its price on the High Street plummets – this week it gains another three places to claim fifth position.
Activision’s Call of Duty 3 slips one spot to sixth whilst THQ’s Cars climbs three places to seventh. Another title enjoying a chart resurgence is LucasArts’ Lego Star Wars II, which jumps from 14th to eighth.
Completing the top ten is Nintendo’s New Super Mario Bros at nine and Microsoft’s Gears of War in tenth.
Elsewhere in the charts Sony’s Buzz Junior: Jungle Party makes an impressive jump from 39th to 23rd, despite a drop in sales, whilst Nintendo’s Zelda: The Twilight Princess re-enters the Top 40 in 36th.
