The launch of PS4 and Xbox One is a “good time to reinvent classic games.”
That’s according to Stephane D’Astous, GM of Eidos Montreal: the studio behind 2011 smash hit Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the upcoming Thief.
“It’s a good time to reinvent great classic games,” he told MCV. “The next generation of consoles and hardware technology is here, and it allows us to provide a whole new level of immersion and a superior production quality to the franchise.
“I think we showed what we can do for new and old fans alike when we released Deus Ex in 2011. The whole team is really excited to introduce the Thief universe to a whole new generation of fans over the coming months.
“We want you to see and experience Thief like never before.”
Thief is being published for Xbox One, PS4 and PC by Eidos Montreal parent Square Enix, which has already seen success this year with another reboot, Tomb Raider.
