Next-gen triumph predicted for PS3

Datamonitor’s The Transforming Global Video Games Market report states that despite its predicted victory, PS3’s late entry into the European market and the head start enjoyed by Microsoft’s Xbox 360 will prevent it from matching the global success of PS2, which has sold over 100,000,000 units worldwide.

Elsewhere in the report, the firm also predicts a shift in the average age of gamers away from the traditional 18-24 age bracket to incorporate newcomers to the games market with an average age of 33.
