Nintendo predicts strongest ever financials

The figures are expected to show a rise in profits for the six months ending September 30th 2006, up from Y45 billion (£200 million) the six months before to Y65 billion (just under £300 million).

Nintendo is also predicting that its results for the fiscal year ending March 31st 2007 will show consolidated worldwide sales for the year of Y740 billion, around £3.3 billion.

Also predicted is a growth in full-year DS sales from 17 million units to 20 million units this year, with software also increasing from 75 million to 82 million units.

Meanwhile, annual sales of Game Boy Advance are also likely to be higher than expected, with Nintendo’s previous estimate of 2.5 million hardware sales increasing to 3.3 million, with software sales climbing from 30 to 32 million units.

The company also expects sales, operational profit, net profit and recurring profit for the six-month period to reach the highest point since Nintendo began disclosing consolidated mid-term results in 2000.
