No PS3 in Europe until 2007

Japan and the US will still be stocking the next-gen console as planned on November 11th and 17th respectively.

Sony has stated that the cause of the delay is down to problems in the production of key components including the blue laser diode, part of the much-hyped built-in Blu-Ray player.

The delay will have huge ramifications for retailers and the wider industry in the PAL region. Friday’s edition of MCV will feature a full, in-depth report and exclusive comment from Sony on the fallout from the hugely significant revelation.
