Nordic Games announces We Sing

Up-and-coming publisher Nordic Games will be unveiling new Wii title We Sing at Gamescom.

The game is the first in the singing genre to feature four microphones simultaneously, and will be shown to trade and press for the first time at the Cologne games event.

We Sing will be Nordic Games’ biggest release to date, a fruition of our ambitions as a publisher of peripheral-based games,” publishing director Pelle Lundborg told MCV.

We want to keep our feet on the ground about We Sing, but deep down we are pretty excited. We have briefed our distribution partners and they are all looking forward to the product. We Sing will do well and will find its space in retail.”

The game allows four friends to sing together and has been heavily targeted at Nintendo’s audience, which has yet to see much penetration by singing titles.

We Sing was designed specifically for the Wii and will only be developed for the Wii in the long term,” Lundborg explained. There is no interest to venture onto SingStar’s territory, or Microsoft’s.”

We Sing features 30 songs from leading record companies such as EMI, Universal Music and Warner. Artists include Coldplay, Tom Jones, Lily Allen and Lady Gaga.
