Now EA heads online

GameDaily reports that the free software is an evolution of the existing EA Downloader, and as well as keeping software automatically up to date, will also allow users exclusive access to extras such as wallpapers, trailers, demos and in-game content.

Need for Speed Carbon will be the first title available through the service, although back catalogue games such as The Sims 2, Battlefield 2142, FIFA 07 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 will also be on sale.

Games will be playable either over the online network or by installing the software to a users machine.
